Puppy Guarantee
Pups bred and whelped at High Test Labs carry a hip and eye guarantee. This guarantee covers any genetic problem that would prevent this animal’s hips from being certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), or the animal’s eyes from being registered with the Canine Eye Registration Foundation, Inc. (CERF).
It is impossible to state that any given dog will be completely free of genetic imperfections. We can guarantee that we breed only physically sound dogs and we have researched the backgrounds of our sires and dams and the litters they have produced to the best of our abilities. By doing this, we hope to reduce the odds of producing defective pups or litters. Therefore, we offer this guarantee, providing the purchaser complies with stated requirements.
Please note that all dogs are sold in good faith and no dog is sold for any specific use!
Health Guarantee: The Seller guarantees the puppy will be in good health on the date of delivery. The puppy will have been properly immunized for his/her age according to a licensed veterinarian and a record of vaccinations and wormings will be provided to the Buyer at delivery. The puppy’s dewclaws will also be removed and he/she will be identified with a microchip. As stated in your puppy purchase contract, Buyers will have 72 hours after the receipt of the puppy to have a qualified veterinarian examine the pup and determine the pup’s state of health. This is to ensure that the puppy is healthy, happy and sound upon receipt. In the event of the puppy is found to have a health problem that cannot be rectified, the Buyer will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price. The puppy must be returned to the Seller within five (5) days at the Buyer’s expense along with a veterinarian’s statement detailing the health defect. This health guarantee is applicable to the original Buyer and is non-transferable.
Hip Guarantee: OFA will only certify dogs who have reached 24 months of age. For this guarantee to be honored, the dog MUST be x-rayed AND certified within six (6) months of reaching 24 months of age. X-rays must be done by a BOARD CERTIFIED VETERINARIAN. If your dog’s hips are rejected by OFA, two options are available.
Option One: High Test Labs will replace the defective pup with a pup of similar breeding and equal value and quality. If the value of the replacement pup is greater than that of the original pup, the Buyer will pay the difference. The expense of transportation of the returning pup and the replacement pup will be assumed by the Buyer. To collect a new pup under Option 1, the following conditions will apply:
High Test Labs must receive a copy of the x-rays and a copy of the OFA findings. The dog’s microchip number must be noted on the OFA findings.
High Test Labs must receive proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered.
The dog’s AKC papers must be returned with the animal and are to be signed over to High Test Labs.
A copy of this guarantee signed by the Buyer must accompany the returning animal.
THE DOG MUST NOT HAVE BEEN BRED.
This guarantee applies only to the original owner and is non-transferable.
The OFA shall be the sole judge regarding hip dysplasia.
Option Two: Because we sincerely hope that this puppy will become part of your family, it is not necessary to return the pup to collect on this agreement. Should the pup’s hips be rejected by OFA, but the Buyer elects to keep the pup, the Buyer is entitled to a refund of one half the original purchase price. High Test Labs must receive a copy of the OFA findings with microchip number noted and proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered. Again, the dog must not have been bred to receive a refund and this option in only available to the original purchaser.
Eye Guarantee: CERF will certify pups as early as 6 weeks of age. For this guarantee to be in effect, the pup’s eyes must be certified by the time the dog reaches one (1) year of age. Diagnosis of eyes must be made by a BOARD CERTIFIED CANINE OPHTHALMOLOGIST and submitted to CERF. If your pup’s eyes are rejected by CERF, the same two options listed above will apply for a replacement pup or a refund of one half the purchase price of the original pup. Again, the following conditions must be met for a replacement pup:
High Test Labs must receive a copy of the CERF results on which the dog’s microchip number shall be noted.
High Test Labs must receive proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered.
The dog’s AKC papers must be returned with the animal and are to be signed over to High Test Labs.
A copy of this guarantee signed by the Buyer must accompany the returning animal. The Dog Must Not Have Been Bred!
This guarantee applies only to the original owner and is non-transferable.
CERF shall be the sole judge regarding congenital eye defects.
It is understood that the above warranties are expressly regarding congenital, hereditary defects and any injury, illness or death caused by neglect or abuse after receipt of the dog by the Buyer will void this guarantee. All veterinary fees, transportation costs and OFA and CERF application fees are the responsibility of the Buyer.
If, for any reason, you cannot keep your puppy, High Test Labs will be happy to assist you in finding a suitable home for your puppy. We ask to be notified if you decide to sell your puppy.
